Our Teachers
Michelle Yeager
Michelle's love affair with dance began with her training in various western dance styles as a kid and was refueled by her introduction to Tribal belly dance as a young adult in 2004. She studied under Vikki of Hipnosis for two years, began dancing with Hipnosis' student troupe Tribal Spirit shortly after, and then became a fully-fledged Hipnosis member in 2006. In addition to regular classes and practicing and performing with her troupe, she has taken several workshops with nationally and internationally known instructors.
She is extremely excited to be doing a teacher training session with Gypsy Caravan in April '08. Michelle is indebted to this dance form and is an advocate of the positive effects it can have on women.
She has recently begun teaching as a means to improve her own skills while dancing and reaching out to other women. She strives to continually evolve as a dancer, teacher, and human being. Annabel Grote
Annabel Grote began to experience the joy of improvisational dance while studying with local modern dance teacher Hedy Tower. The body/mind integration which came from many years in the dance studio influenced her in a profound way. During her study of psychology, she began to explore the psychological dimensions of movement, ritual, and expressive arts therapies. Two intensive years of training with Alice Rutkowski, creator of Motional Processing, led to certification in this experiential life-art process.
When Annabel began attending workshops in Contemplative Dance with Alton Wasson and Daphne Lowell, she came to love the authentic movement protocol and started using it as a personal practice. She hopes that those attracted to her workshops may want to join a group which would practice authentic movement on a regular basis.
Annabel holds an M.A.degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Reiki Master in the Usui tradition. She maintains a private psychotherapy and Reiki practice. Her phone number is 215-885-3607, annabelgrote@yahoo.com
